A Journey of Growth, Reinvention and Becoming
I have always believed that we are never truly finished in our ability to grow, learn, adapt, and become more fully who we are meant to be. My professional journey has been wonderfully varied, spanning careers as a middle school teacher, a real estate agent, a business owner, and a stay-at-home mom. Through every transition, navigating the unique stresses of running a business, balancing work and family, and reinventing myself along the way, I discovered a common thread: a deep passion for connection and understanding the human experience.
A Sacred Space for Transformation
I believe that therapy can be a sacred space where we experience the transformative power of vulnerability and human connection. As your therapist, I bring warmth, acceptance, transparency, and genuine humanity to our work together. Clients experience me as a compassionate companion who welcomes the complexities of what it means to be human. Whether you are seeking individual, couple, or family therapy, I am here to help you navigate your challenges so love, courage, belonging, joy, and creativity can more fully emerge, leading you toward a more authentic life.
Transforming Lived Experience Into a Calling
Returning to graduate school in mid-life was driven by a deep desire to offer the kind of competent, compassionate support I know is so desperately needed. My life has been profoundly transformed through my own therapy journey. Having a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive therapist has helped me heal in ways that have changed my life.
Married for twenty-five years and raising two teenage daughters, one in high school and the other in college, my partner and I have also sat on the other side of the couples therapy couch. With the support of personal and couple therapy, we have navigated life’s complexities, broken generational patterns of dysfunction, and deepened our connection. As an adult who was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia later in life, I also intimately understand the unique challenge and gift of neurodivergence and the profound impact of navigating those discoveries within a family system.
Grounded in Attachment, Systems, and EFT
My lived experience has taught me firsthand that healing and growth happen within relationships. As a therapist, my approach is deeply rooted in three core frameworks:
- Attachment-Focused: I see our need for a safe emotional and physical connection with a trusted person not just as a preference, but as a fundamental need
- Systems-Focused: I believe people are interconnected; our behavior shapes, and is shaped by, those to whom we are connected.
- Evidence-Based: I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a powerful, research-backed therapy model that prioritizes emotion and secure bonding to offer clinically proven healing for individuals, couples, and families.
Education and Professional Background
I am currently completing the clinical phase of my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Regis University, a COAMFTE-accredited program, and joining the team at RCC Colorado as a Master’s Level Marriage and Family Therapist. Drawing on decades of lived experience, I provide both individual, couples, and family therapy, helping clients break free from painful patterns and build secure, lasting connections with themselves and their loved ones.
